Learning Spanish as a future PA, Dentist, or Physician is so incredibly important to make medicine more accessible to so many more Americans. I have always encouraged those with any interest to learn the language and put that on your application because I know that schools are looking at that skillset as added value. Most schools have Medical Spanish programs of some sort, so you'll be able to continue learning throughout your training, but indicating you are trying to learn Spanish before going can help you stand out.
I am incredibly excited to be travelling with a group of current and future applicants to Ensenada, Mexico on March 26-29. This trip isn't going to make you fluent in Spanish, but it signals intent. It says, I recognize the need and I'm willing to invest in myself. The reason I selected a March trip was I know that so many of you have been working hard over the last year applying, and I think there is no better way to reward yourself than with a half educational, half relaxing trip to a coastal, warm city. Personally, this is my reward for the thousands of pages of secondaries I read last summer.

The cost is $650. Here is the payment link to pay in full. The price includes your transportation from San Diego to Ensenada and back. Your housing while down there, as well as three meals a day. Not to mention all the educational components!
To date, there are five of us traveling together, so this will be a small, casual (and fun!) group to travel safely with.
